The members of the Lions Club of Nargund came forward to start a school to impart quality education to the students of rural area. At first the Kindergarten School was started in the premises of Shri Nagareshwar Temple, Nargund. Under
the Chairmanship of Lion. N. B. Gudisagar and the Secretaryship of Lion V. R.
Gadad “ Lions Kindergarten School” was established in the year
1978. The School enrolled only 38 students and appointed only three teachers.
18th April 1981 is regarded as the red letter day in the history of Lions Club of
Nargund. It was on this day that the members took the decision to form a
society and thereby to start a School. The establishment of an English Medium
School at Nargund took place in the year 1980-81.
The
foundation for the school was laid by the former Chief Minister of Karnataka
Shri R. GunduRao. The school building was inaugurated by Lion Jawali, Past
Dist. Governor, Dist. 324 D2. The Government of Karnataka was kind enough to
recognize our School under its Order No. 82/ 22/ opn/ Pry School/ 81-82 dated
27- 07-1981.
The
first floor of the school in the name of Late Shri Basappa Muddappa Hasbi hall
was constructed with the generous donation received from Hasbi brothers.
With
the constant efforts of the Lions Education Society the School blossomed into a
High School. Under the Chairmanship of Lion C. H. Kori and the Secretaryship of
Lion S. S. Patil, many more Class-rooms were constructed with the generous
donations received from Shri B.K. Gudisagar & Sons, Shri C L Patil &
Sons, Shri H G Kori & Sons, Shri B P Chikkamath & Shri A R Jinaga, Shri
B T Kulkarni & Sons, Smt Indrabai Handral, Shri J V Ingalalli & Sons,
Shri V B Bonageri & Sons, Shri T R Gudisagar & Sons, Shri B T Wagati
& Shri L B Malali & Sons and Shri Nada Brahmmanand Swamiji
(Hrishikesh).
The
Lions Education Society, Nargund is grateful to late Shri S.F. Patil, Ex MLA and late Shri L.S. Patil Ex President TMC and Shri S. C. Asuti, Ex President TMC Nargund, for their help in getting the
site sanctioned to take up further activities.
Under
the Chairmanship of Lion S S Patil and the Secretaryship of Lion C.C. Patil and
Joint Secretaryship of Late Lion G N Sali, the School was able to make its own
progress.
Under
the Chairmanship of Lion C C Patil and the Secretaryship of Late Lion G N Sali,
the School was able to reach some new heights. It was with the efforts of Lion
C C Patil, the then Chairman, the society could get Rs 5 lakhs to construct new
School and College building from Late Shri S R Bommai, Ex Union Minister and Rajya
Sabha Member.
It was during the period from 2000 to2003, under the Chairmanship of Lion S V
Bonageri and the Secretaryship of Lion Dr. B M Jabannavar two more institutions
were established in the year 2001 viz. Lions Kannada Medium High School and
Lions Independent P.U. College, Nargund. The Lions Education Society is
grateful to the help extended by Shri Basavaraj Bommai,Chief Minister, Govt. of Karnataka.

Taking
this into account, under the Chairmanship of Lion G B Kulkarni and the
Secretaryship of Lion Dr. B. M. Jabannavar, the right wing of the School came
into existence. It was during this period the three acres of land on Hubli -
Solapur road was purchased and the new blue print was prepared. As it is
rightly said, “We need to embrace technology to make
learning more engaging.” The Smart Classes by TATA Class Edge were introduced during
this period.
Under
the Chairmanship of Lion B K Gujamagadi and the Secretaryship of Lion S S Patil
(Basavaraj) and the joint Secretaryship of Lion C. S. Salutagimath the school
saw some new changes. In order to help the students to come from various
villages a school bus and two vans were introduced. These were the land marks
set by the Lions Education Society, Nargund.
The
new office bearers have taken charge of the L.E.Society now. Lion C C Patil,Minister
of Public Works Department of Govt. of Karnatka and is the Chairman, Lion G T
Gudisagar is the Secretary from September 2016. They are working hard to expand
the school for its overall development.
